Being a non-it company, Incompetent management, politics, rare chances of growth in IT and software, typical service based mentality like breaking communication channel with UK team and force people to route the same via management and management is too manipulative in communication to your UK manager(who actually decide on your career growth) and miscommunication from Indian management is a big block in career growth(I am only mentioning this on software side).
Transparency between UK and Indian team, Indian management should show their initiatives towards the change and should come out from their comfort zone. Indian managers should not be afraid of people who are good and have thrust to grow but should give them opportunity to grow. Indian managers instead wasting time to pull competent people down they should raise their level to the competent people and should show healthy completion. Indian management should stop licking UK managers.
Software team size is 8 as compared to the Atkins size of 1000 people and that too under incompetent management who are no ware close the technology, negligible chances on technical growth but make your learning stagnant, after wasting 2 years of my career I finally moved back to proper IT based organization where I have a clear path of career growth. Even comp HRs are not clear on the IT career like what next after Sr. Soft Eng…? There answers are like may be module lead…, SAD.

Acting Managers should try tom come out of their comfort zone and accept the changes for competition
Before joining this organization I heard that attrition rate is low in Atkins and after spending some time I figured out the cause of the same and it is people working in this organization became so incompetent(living in their own comfort zone) that there is no place for them in the market outside, I am not sure about other verticals but software business is far far below from IT standards outside and the reason for the same is incompetent management sitting on competent geeks.
